At the ongoing CROI conference (Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections), researchers from the University of Mississippi presented the case of an infant ‘functionally cured’ of HIV. Les organisations de liaison l’utiliseront, conjointement à leurs propres plans nationaux, afin de façonner leurs stratégies futures et le secrétariat international s’en servira afin de développer un plan opérationnel. En 2015, nous examinerons nos environnements opérationnels et nos progrès, puis réviserons nos objectifs jusqu’en 2020 en conséquence.

Cette stratégie nous permet d’unir nos efforts pour créer un monde dans lequel les communautés ont mis un terme à la transmission du VIH et sécurisé leur santé et leurs droits humains.

La estrategia VIH, salud y derechos: sostener las acciones comunitarias se ha desarrollado a través de una amplia consulta con Organizaciones de Enlace de la Alianza y socios estratégicos, y ha sido aprobada por nuestra Junta Directiva internacional. Ofrece una guía general y establece objetivos ambiciosos pero medibles para toda la Alianza. Las Organizaciones de Enlace la usarán, junto con sus propios planes nacionales, para dar forma a sus estrategias futuras, y el secretariado internacional la usará para desarrollar un plan operativo. En 2015 evaluaremos nuestros entornos operativos y nuestros avances, y en función de ello ajustaremos los objetivos hasta 2020.

Esta estrategia aúna nuestros esfuerzos para hacer realidad un mundo en el que las comunidades hayan puesto fin a la transmisión del VIH y garantizado su salud y sus derechos humanos.

This new global strategy articulates our determination and our strengths as an Alliance. 

It has been developed through wide consultation with Linking Organisations and other partners, and has been approved by our international board of trustees. 

The strategy provides high-level direction and sets 17 ambitious but measurable goals for the whole Alliance.  The targets have been set up until 2015, at which point we will review our progress and revise the goals up until 2020 accordingly.

Linking Organisations will use this strategy - together with their own national plans - to shape their future strategies.  The international secretariat will use it to develop our operational plan.
