Part Time 60%, 1 Year Fixed Term Contract

Stop AIDS Alliance (SAA) is a joint partnership between Stop AIDS NOW! (SAN), the Netherlands, and the International HIV/AIDS Alliance (the Alliance), UK, created in 2002 to Influence and strengthen the EU’s response to the global HIV pandemic.

 

SAA is a member in Action for Global Health (AfGH), a cross-European network of NGOs, calling for Europe to act now to enable developing countries to achieve the health Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015.

 

The Assistant: European Policy will work closely with the Head of EU Policy and the European Policy Advisor to assist in implementation of SAA’s thematic work plan and activities carried out in the context of AfGH. This will include support to the development of key policy messages, provide (logistical) support to the organisation of events, update SAA’s website, writing news stories for AfGH’s website and support the head of EU Policy and the European Policy Advisor in their daily tasks and activities.

 

The successful candidate must have a good knowledge of the functioning of EU Institutions and an understanding of the EU development cooperation. You also have a strong interest in working on health and HIV/AIDS issues. You must be able to work autonomously and able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously. You will be well organised and have a high level of interpersonal, administrative and computer skills.  Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are essential and the ability to work in another language, in particular French, is a strong asset
