What we do
Stop AIDS Alliance monitors and challenges the policies, programmes and resource allocations that govern how the EU directs and supports its work on HIV/AIDS. We play a leading role in holding the EU institutions accountable for commitments made with regard to the pandemic.Based on the experience and evidence gathered from the work of STOP AIDS NOW! and the International HIV/AIDS Alliance’s programme work and support to community-based organisations, SAA pays particular attention to:
- Universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support
- HIV mainstreaming and workplace policies
- Orphans and vulnerable children living in a world with HIV/AIDS
- HIV/AIDS financing
- Civil society involvement and community mobilisation
- HIV and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR)
- HIV and human rights
SAA undertakes joint advocacy activities with a range of civil society actors in Brussels, including those working in the field of development, vaccines and microbicides, children, and sexual and reproductive health and rights.
