Civil society involvement
Civil society involvement in the universal access agenda should not be limited to implementation. Civil society organisations have a strong role to play as the policy partners of governments at all stages of the national response to HIV and in the country-level universal access target-setting process.Stop AIDS Alliance promotes the involvement of civil society, including people living with HIV and AIDS and key populations, in the dialogue with decision-makers regarding the development, implementation and monitoring of HIV policies and programmes and national health plans. In order to do this, technical and financial resources for capacity-building of civil society should be made available.
